The view is seen from the hedgerow where the bull finch watch the orchard in relative safety. The Victorian gardeners deemed this secretive bird as a “blossom picker” causing the reduction of fruit growth. As their numbers dwindled we now realise that they can live in harmony in the orchard.

This artwork is my way of introducing myself as a prospective member of the Glasgow Art Club. I wanted to express myself as an artistically creative and musical person.

I enjoy studying peoples facial expressions and then capturing these in a visual format.

I wanted to capture a situation using graphite to convey realistic expression and emotion in this subject.  I upcycled the frame with warm pinks and whites and added a large mount which works with the neutral tones of the image and draws the viewer in.
