Clyde scene

In this painting, I was exploring the idea of finding the revelation of someone’s character through their clothing. Therefore I see this painting as a sort of portrait, encouraging the viewer to imagine and create a story of the wearer of the shoes.

Watercolour painted at Aberdeen Beach, capturing movement and atmosphere of the North East Coastline.

Mounted and glazed with a light oak frame, this was painted from the banks of the Clyde across the water from where the construction of HMS Duncan was being completed

Derives from a photo that I took of Deptford power station on a visit to London in the late 1960s.
