A bright but cold February afternoon Looking across a by a to the Cullen Harbour pier on the Moray Firth

It’s midsummer on a trip to the Isle of St Kilda some 40 miles or so out from the west coast of the Isle of Harris. Enroute the towering cliffs of Boreray loom large over our boat.

I came across this ruin bathed in November morning light near the start of a walk around the upper reaches of the Findhorn River in Strahdearn.

The Findhorn river flows from the eastern flanks of the Cairngorms in a sweeping north easterly arc through Morayshire out into the Moray Firth near Forres. The Burnley Frieze Precast Concrete Size 150 ft long and 9ft high Location was at the Thompson Centre, Burnley. It has now been resited at the Crowood Leisure Centre, Royle Lane, Burnley BB12 0RT. 1974, Architect: Burnley Council Architects. The original building (inset) was demolished.
