This is a combination of observational and memory painting. Angus brought me a dream, the dream of Glenan, on Loch Fyne, where I used to visit with my family when I was younger. It is redolent with memories. Over lockdown last year I dreamt a lot about this particular landscape.

This is a painting of my daughter against the backdrop of a Bridget Riley painting.

A recent still life from lockdown. It is painted directly from observation. Over lockdown everything was getting very depressing, with this painting I was trying to create something uplifting in colour and mood.

I am including this piece in the ‘Art Inspired by Art’ exhibition. This piece is inspired by the contemporary artist, Kurt Jackson’s dramatic landscape work.
