An online talk hosted by Glasgow School of Art bringing together photographic and lens-based practitioners from the art school’s FIX Photography Collective, The London Alternative Photography Collective and The Sustainable Darkroom. The talk provides a platform for conversations around issues of sustainability in terms of photographic materials and processes and will consider some of the questions surrounding the role of photography in an ecological crisis. It will also reflect on ‘the Collective’ as a means to support and enable practice, education and action. The talk links to the FIX Photography Collective exhibition which forms part of the Club’s ‘Art of the Possible’ exhibition.
The FIX Photography Collective is an artist-run collective founded by Christina McBride and Jess Holdengarde in Glasgow. The collective aims to bring together a community of lens-based practitioners who share a commitment to analogue processes, a concern for the natural environment and a commitment to expand new, exciting and more sustainable processes and materials within photography.
