Luka (b.2001) is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Glasgow. Their practice investigates themes of identity, dichotomy, mental health and memory, through an assortment of photographic and video works. Luka’s imagery acts as representation of drastically shifting emotions and feelings; symbolising an often cyclical fluctuation of mood, perspective and sense of self. Through carefully orchestrated compositions and selected motifs, Luka produces tangible representations of specific life experiences, memories and dreams, with visuals heavily influenced by spirituality and the supernatural, to create works distorting reality; ultimately resting on the borderline between verisimilitude and fantasy.
