Kate primarily works as a painter and mixed media artist currently based in London, studying for a Masters degree in Painting at The Royal College of Art, having just finished her BA(hons) at The Glasgow School of Art this year. The work explores form, structure, colour and texture with the intention of reflecting her physical, emotional and psychological experience of a place or subject. Her aim is to immerse the viewer in carefully constructed ‘penetrable scenes’,  or fragments of an environment or ‘scape’, drawing attention to the beauty she finds in the derelict unnoticed and not yet fully formed, within her urban environment. The works convey the experience of moving through a space, allowing the viewer to form their own narratives emerging from the artist’s own.
