Miroslav Masek

About

Born in the Czech Republic.

Miroslav came to Scotland in 2012 and like many
creative people, decided to stay.
It was only in 2019 that he developed his love for oil
painting, and it was in early 2021 that he undertook a
Cityscape course with the American painter Gavin
Glakas to develop his craft.
In 2021 Miroslav had his first exhibition at the
Rendezvous Gallery in Aberdeen where he sold his
small oil paintings of the Aberdeen City areas and the
local countryside.

“Painting for me has become more than a hobby.
My preference – en plein air. Its healthy & relaxing.
It’s great to get out, set up my easel and paint.
I really enjoy painting like this, it’s exhilarating.
My main inspiration comes from places that surround
me daily. The interesting buildings, green spaces &
parks are an abundant source of inspiration in such a
historic city full of character.”

Miroslav’s other occupation is a Software Engineer for
a tv company here in Glasgow.
