29th Oct to 4th Dec (various dates) – ‘Art of the Possible’ Three Exhibitions Focussing on Climate Change & Sustainability

Three exhibitions focussing on climate change and sustainability organised by the Glasgow Art Club in collaboration with the The Glasgow School of Art. The exhibitions feature work by the Club’s elected artists and the students and staff of The Glasgow School of Art. The exhibition is being supported by Wallace Seymour Fine Art Products, Exhibit Auctions and Innis & Gunn.

  • Art of the Possible – main headline exhibition hung across the ground floor gallery spaces depicting the possible impact of climatic change in relation to potential innovation, mitigation, consequences and sustainable practice – view the exhibition online here.
  • Silver & Jewellery – a first floor exhibition featuring the work of Glasgow School of Art’s 2015 Sustainability Award Winner, Karen Westland. As a Glasgow based silversmith Karen Westland advocates for responsible practices through their innovative craftwork and research. Her work is influenced by photonics, optic designs and applications to explore how we engage with technologies for sustainable development in Western society. Karen aims to offer her clients luxury products with narratives worth celebrating. The exhibition can be seen in the first floor – view the exhibition online here.
  • ‘In-Process’ – FIX Photographic Collective – this first floor exhibition brings together the work of four artists from across the UK – Joy Gregory, Jess Holdengarde, Melanie King and Christina McBride – whose practices question and expand the role of photography in relation to a wider discourse around landscape, the environment and issues of sustainability – view the exhibition online here.
