Westbourne Music Concerts

Westbourne Music returns to The Glasgow Art Club – Wednesdays at 1 p.m.

The Westbourne Music concert series provides performance opportunities for both emerging and established chamber ensembles and soloists. You can buy tickets in advance or on the day, and all members of the public are warmly welcome. We value our established audience members and new concertgoers alike and hope to see you at one (or all) of our events very soon!

Resol String Quartet

Taking their name from the Catalan word meaning “reflection of sunlight”, the members of the quartet come from a great variety of backgrounds but were brought together by their shared vision to make classical music more inclusive and accessible both in the present and for the future.

In a constant pursuit for excellence, these young artists share their joy of music making and act as ambassadors for chamber music, keeping it alive in today’s society.

Guitar duo Sasha Savaloni and Tim Beattie take the stage, showcasing the versatility and artistry of the guitar through a diverse musical landscape. Experience the passion and elegance of Enrique Granados and Fernando Sor’s timeless compositions alongside captivating works by North American composers Caroline Shaw and Robert Nathaniel Dett, in innovative new arrangements for two guitars..

The Silver Keys Clarinet Quartet

The Silver Keys is a clarinet quartet based in Scotland. The current members are Laura Hundert, Pawel Jaworski, Matas Ščerbauskas, and Jennifer Moss. The Silver Keys are unbound by genre and enjoy performing new works for clarinet quartet as well as arrangements of well-known pieces as they highlight the clarinet’s wide- ranging ability to perform all styles of music.

We are thrilled to invite award-winning singer, Hannah Rarity to Westbourne this season. She has made a lasting impression since being warmly embraced by the folk world, winning BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year (2018) and recording and touring with top acts Blazin’ Fiddles, Rura, Niteworks and Cherish the Ladies

JAZZ WEEK – Matt Carmichael (Saxophone) and

Fergus McCreadie (Piano)

A mutual love of traditional music and jazz underpins the work of this unique Scottish duo, both finalists in the BBC Young Jazz Musician of The Year. Through years of playing together, Matt Carmichael (saxophone) and Fergus McCreadie (piano) have developed an intimate knowledge of one another’s playing and compositional styles which they harness to produce stunning and delightfully spontaneous performances. We are thrilled to have them at Westbourne for our final concert of the year.
