Description
Thomas Telford built several distinctive white bay windowed houses for his construction managers, later used to house his lock keepers. One of these large houses stands proud overlooking Neptune’s staircase on the Caledonian Canal. A dramatic staircase flight comprising eight locks, it is the longest surviving staircase lock in Britain.
