Description
This is a view from Grasspoint on Mull. A place where in the past the drovers would drive their cattle to be shipped to the mainland.
It is a studio piece based on sketches John has made over the years on his visits to the point. John has attempted to capture the Hebridean light of the west employing both palette knive and trowel and strong impasto brushmarks. The title was drawn from his visit on the evening of the longest day when there happened to be a boat passing by in the early evening light.
