Description

“Island Cèilidh” 

During lockdown we dreamt of being up in the Outer Hebrides, dancing wildly on a hill, whilst singing in Gaelic.

We missed the freedom of the islands so much.

Here my sons have just been helped out of a bog. Luckily, they had wee shorts on, as their trousers were soaked in mud and all sorts. They are doing their post-bog, celebratory, survival dance here, singing “Donald Where’s Your Troosers”?

This photograph was shortlisted for the Scottish Portrait Awards 2021/22. During which time, it was exhibited in Edinburgh, Dumfries, and Glasgow.
