An exhibition of original, limited-edition prints published by Glasgow Print Studio, celebrating their historic commitment to excellence in fine-art printmaking.
Since 1972, Glasgow Print Studio has been supporting and developing contemporary and innovative printmaking in Scotland. They began as an artist-led initiative providing accessible workshop facilities and today. They maintain a state-of-the-art production facility and are active across exhibitions, sales, education, archiving and courses.
A print ‘publication’ is the term used to denote editions that are made in a collaboration between an artist and a Master Printer. This creative relationship develops the artist’s image or idea to a final proof stage, from which the Master Printer prints the edition in full, and the artist completes by signing and numbering by hand. Glasgow Print Studio has been publishing prints for over 30 years, inviting artists from Scotland, the UK, and internationally.
Print is a fascinating medium that offers a wealth of technical approaches and outcomes. Glasgow Print Studio is delighted to partner with Glasgow Art Club to showcase what they do and to offer works by many brilliant and sought-after artists available for purchase.
This exhibition will be staged in the Club’s Mackintosh Gallery:
- Members and friends preview Thursday 10th July, evening.
- Public access Friday 11th July – Saturday 9th August – (see access hours here).
Running concurrently in the Club’s Walton Gallery, ‘Works in Print‘ will feature prints produced by the Club’s Exhibiting Artist Membership.
