Sarmed has over 30 years of experience as filmmaker, writer, actor and artist. Nominated for BAFTA Scotland New Talent award as best producer for his feature, he has been a published writer since the age of 14.

His interest in drawing and painting began through exploration into silent meditation.

From realistic portraiture to non-representational abstracts, from surrealism to emotive landscapes, Sarmed’s choices of explorations come from an intuitional and sub-conscious place as well as a reaction to his immediate environment.

In 2022 his drawing of Murree Man was a finalist in the Scottish Portrait Awards.

His artwork has been displayed in UK, Canada and Dubai, where he has also taught drawing and filmmaking.
