Scottish Portrait Awards Shortlist 2021 

Island Cèilidh, Rodel, Isle of Harris. Home is always where the heart is. We felt that more than ever during lockdown. We dreamt of being up in the Outer Hebrides, dancing wildly on a hill, while singing in Gaelic. We missed the freedom of the islands so much. In this shot my sons have just been helped out of a bog. Luckily, they had wee shorts on, as their trousers were soaked in mud and all sorts. They are doing their post-bog celebratory survival dance here, singing, Donald Where’s Your Troosers?
