Description
This work is a grisaille alla prima painting after Agathon Leonard’s Bust of a Girl. The sculpture’s quiet, contemplative presence inspired me to translate its form into paint, where expressive brushwork softens the clean, idealized surfaces of the original. In doing so, the piece shifts from a study of marble to an evocation of living flesh, blurring the line between sculpture and portrait.
