A Body of Evidence”
The sitter recently started her recovery from the long-term impact and aftermath of a very difficult life. She wanted me to capture her feeling strong, beautiful, and empowered.
She acknowledged that life had left many scars.
The cuts can be so deep, they become part of who we are.
Cancer survival, childbirth, domestic abuse, addiction, and the ongoing trauma.
It takes such strength and courage to wear our scars bravely and beautifully, yet not let them define who we are.
Sometimes when looking at the surface, we focus so much on the damage, we fail to see the person, acknowledge their strength, and celebrate their survival.
