Description
A 1970s encounter with a Bedouin family camped near the then southernmost United Arab Emirates’ desert oilfields on the northern edge of the Rub al Kali (The Empty Quarter). An area through which the explorer Wilfred Thesiger had passed some 30 years earlier prior to the discovery of oil and subsequently recounted in his book ‘Arabian Sands’.
