Description
Along the coast in my home village in Llanon, Wales, on a misty morning during one of my frequent walks when I am back there, I stumbled across this Spiny Dog Fish carcass. Classed as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the apparition etched an ominous warning of coming extinctions into my mind and prompted me to transfer this portent into paint. Sometimes in the UK we feel dislocated from news of ecological disasters across the world where in reality we don’t need to look far to find examples of human impact on our environment, manifest warnings can occur on a daily basis.
