‘Ten Wee Drams’ – ten miniatures for solo bass or contrabass clarinet.

Each ‘Wee Dram’ by Scottish-based composers take inspiration from from past and current culture, heritage, folklore and landscape of the Isle of Raasay.

The composers of the Wee Drams are: Alasdair Nicolson (Edinburgh and Orkney), Piers Hellawell (Isle of Harris), William Sweeney (Glasgow), Jane Stanley (Glasgow), Stuart MacRae (Glasgow), Iain Matheson (Edinburgh), Pete Stollery (Aberdeen), Oliver Searle (Glasgow), Adam Lee (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) and Sarah Watts.

Ten Wee Drams is a new set of works for solo bass and contrabass clarinet commissioned and performed by Sarah Watts.

As a bass clarinetist, Sarah Watts has gained an international reputation as an artist, teacher and researcher. She has performed solo repertoire and given masterclasses across the UK, Ireland, Asia, Europe and the Americas, and has attracted many composers including Sir Harrison Birtwistle, Piers Hellawell and William Sweeney to write works for her.
