Lynne Johnstone

Lynne is a talented and passionate contemporary artist who works from her studio in Alloway, Scotland.

She captures the essence of the natural world realistically and has a special knack of portraying cows, sheep, hens and birds. Lynne’s pieces  often reflect the animals’ character with a touch of humour.

In contrast, her mixed media boat paintings are created in a vibrant way using layers of paint, bright colours, textured elements and found objects recreating the atmosphere of Scottish fishing villages.  Lynne’s abstract table top still lives also feature in Lynne’s artwork, an image created from objects each viewed from unusual angles merged together.

Lynne’s artwork is regularly exhibited in institutions such as  the Paisley Art Institute, Royal Glasgow Institute, Glasgow Society of Women Artists and the Glasgow Art Club, in addition to various charity art exhibitions
