Autumn Exhibition - Friday 5th September - Tuesday 30th SeptemberThe Glasgow Art Club's Autumn Exhibition was opened by Sally McNair of the BBC on Friday 5th September after a dinner for Members and invited guests. The exhibition will run from Friday 5th September 2008 until Tuesday 30th September. it is open to the public between the hours of 12.00pm - 5.00pm except Sundays and Tuesdays (Closed for the Bank Holiday on 29th September). Summer Exhibition - Friday 4th July - Saturday 2nd AugustThe Glasgow Art Club's Summer Exhibition was opened by Campbell Armour of Lyon and Turnbull at 9pm on Friday 4th July after a buffet dinner for Members and invited guests. The exhibition will ran from Friday 4th July 2008 until Saturday 2nd August. it was open to the public between the hours of 12.00 - 5.00 pm except Sundays and Tuesdays. Members Spring Exhibition - Saturday 12th April 2008 - Saturday 3rdMay 2008The Members Spring Exhibition was opened by Robert Kelsey on Saturday 12th April at 2.00pm. The exhibition ran from Saturday 12th April 2008 until Saturday 3rd May. it was open to the public between the hours of 1.00 - 6.00 pm except Sundays and Tuesdays. Burns Supper, 25th January 2008The President, Charles Anderson was in the chair. The Haggis was addressed by David B Smith, who later read "Death and Dr Hornbrook". Lesley Duncan gave the Toast to "The Immortal Memory of Robert Burns". Sheriff Vincent Canavan gave the Toast "The Lasses". The "Reply for the Lasses" was made by Dr Winifred Ewing. The Top Table and later the Haggis was piped in by James Beaton on the Higland Bagpipe and we later heard Dr Martin Lowe on the Lowland Bagpipe. Miller Frondigoun and Marjory Gray sang a number of Burns' songs accompanied by John Crawford on the piano. Thanks to the Chef, and all the Club staff for preparing and serving such a marvellous dinner. A most enjoyable evening. | |||||||||

White Christmas Ball 14th DecemberIt was a fabulous evening. £5820 was raised by the raffle and the silent auction for the Restoration Fund. | |||||||||

The Fejes Quartet 20 NovemberThis recently formed quartet of RSNO musicians gave a magnificent performance of Beethoven’s String Quartet in A Minor Opus 132 and Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major. | |||||||||

Celebration Dinner 9 NovemberThe emphasis was definitely on socialising rather than speechifying though this excellent opportunity was taken by our President and Lay Vice President to thank all those who had helped make the first phase of the restoration of 185 Bath Street a success. Many thanks to Inverarity Vaults for donating the champagne which started the evening with a fizz, to the chef and the Club staff who served a marvellous dinner and to Richard whose piano playing gave some of us the chance to dance till midnight.- Click on the thumbnails for a larger image | |||||||||

Quick Draw at The Glasgow Art ClubOn Saturday 27 October 2007, 58 Members and friends attended this event. ‘A heady experience’ was had by all - two hours of creative fun discovering their hidden talents. Many thanks to Millers Art store for sponsoring the event. | |||||||||
