About Karen Phipps

A Drawing and Painting graduate of Glasgow School of Art in the 1970s, Karen Phipps returned to full-time painting in 2003 after combining a long painting career with nearly thirty years of teaching art in schools in Glasgow and Lanarkshire.

Public exhibitions in which she has shown have included the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Glasgow Institute, and Paisley Art Institute.

Her most recent landscape paintings are a direct result of travel in the deserts of the southwestern United States, especially Utah and southern California.

She continues to paint and draw the human figure, and to develop her own approach to still life.

Paintings by Karen Phipps are in private collections in the UK, the United States, France, Italy and Germany.
