About Edmere Mackie

I graduated from Glasgow School Of Art in 1965 (embroidery, weaving,and textile design).

My first post was lecturer at Gray’s School Of Art in Aberdeen.

I returned to Glasgow in 1968 and taught Art at Hutcheson’s Grammar School, and Kelvinside Academy until my retirement in 2002.

My early commissions were mainly embroidered panels Pulpit Falls and Fashion Items.

Throughout my teaching life I have been the creator and maker of costumes for schools and youth theatres.

Since retiring I have returned to drawing and painting.
